What is out-of-warranty?
- Out-of-warranty means:
- The date of purchase of your phone is more than the length of warranty period of your phone e.g. your iPhone was bought over 1 year ago
- The fault you are experiencing is not covered by warranty
What if you don’t offer an out-of-warranty paid service?
If we don’t offer an out-of-warranty paid service, then we will return your phone, free of charge.
What do I need to take to the Vodafone Service Centre?
Aside from your phone, you will need to provide proof of purchase e.g. sales receipt, so we can confirm that the phone was bought through an approved Vodafone channel, and that it is still within the warranty period. You will also need to provide contact details should the service centre need to contact you.
What about the data on my phone (contacts, messages, pictures etc)?
We do not backup your data on your device, so it is important that you back up all data before the replacement service takes place. You are responsible for your data.
My phone problem only shows up some of the time, not all the time. Will you still replace it?
We understand that certain faults only show up on your phone sometimes, and are not very easy to show. In this case, the service centre will take your phone from you and monitor over a period of 2 days. If we find the fault, and it is covered by warranty, we will replace the phone. If we do not find a fault, we will return your phone, free of charge
My phone is out of warranty. What can you do?
In certain cases, we will have a replacement service for out-of-warranty phones. This is a paid service, and the price will vary depending on the kind of damage. Our service centre staff will evaluate the fault on the phone, and provide you with a quote for the out-of-warranty service. The out-of-warranty service pricing is cheaper than having to buy a new device.
Is the replacement service free?
The replacement is free of charge as long as the following is true:
Your phone was bought through an approved Vodafone channel
Your phone is within the warranty period
The fault is covered by warranty Otherwise, a paid out-of-warranty service is offered, if available.
I don’t want to pay for an out-of-warranty service?
If you choose not to pay for an out-of-warranty service, then we will return your original phone, free of charge.
How long will it take to fix my phone?
We want to keep you talking! We therefore offer a fast straight-swap service, which means you will normally get a replacement straightaway. Otherwise, the turnaround time from receiving the phone to having a replacement ready is less than 48 hours.
How long is the warranty period on my phone?
